ABOUT OUR SUMMER CAMPS

Rideau Canoe Club offers their fantastic Canoe Kids Summer Camps throughout the summer months.

The Canoe Kids Summer Camp is a fun-filled, one week, day-camp with an introduction to all aspects of safe paddle sports. Campers will enjoy canoeing, kayaking, swimming, field sports, as well as cooperative games and activities.

It is a program suitable for beginners as well as for those with some previous paddling experience. Campers must demonstrate a base level of swimming competence in order to participate.

Throughout the week campers will explore the Rideau River with qualified instructors. Campers should bring a swimsuit, change of clothes, running shoes, sunscreen, water bottle, and lunch. Rideau Canoe Club provides all other equipment needed!

Ages:

7-12

Dates/Times:

Weekly from June 28 through August 20, 2021.
9:15-11:45 a.m. or 1:15-3:45 p.m.

Cost:

$216/week (half days)

ABOUT RIDEAU CANOE CLUB

The Rideau Canoe Club is a non-profit organization located in the City of Ottawa with over 100 years of history. Founded in 1902, the club was originally located on the Rideau Canal at the foot of Fifth Avenue in the Glebe. In 1947, the club reorganized and relocated to its current location at Mooney’s Bay. In 1980, construction was completed on the clubhouse with cooperation of the City of Ottawa, the National Capital Commission, the Province of Ontario and Parks Canada.

ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS

Rideau Canoe Club offers a wide range of programming including:

  • Learn To Paddle – introductory programs that include the Canoe Kids Summer Camps, Intro to Sprint Paddling, and recreational programs for youths, adults, and seniors
  • Competitive Training – sprint paddling programs starting at age 10 and all the way up to adults
  • Dragon Boat – RCC offers practice time for Dragon Boat teams. As well, on August 24, 2019, RCC will host its 12th annual Dragon Boat Festival.
  • PaddleALL – through Canoe and Kayak Canada, RCC offers programs (both recreational and competitive) for individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities
